Rupees Puzzle

A man left Rs. 4800 in his will, to be divided equally among his children who survived him. Sadly, some of his children predeceased him. As a result, each of the remaining children received Rs. 1120 more than they would have otherwise got. How many of their siblings had died?

  1. Intially there were 10 siblings, each getting Rs. 480.

    7 must have died before him. So Rs. 4800 divided among 3 survivals.

    Each getting Rs. 1600, i.e. Rs 1120 more.
