Time Keeping Puzzle
Here's a mathematical puzzle to puzzle you. If you crack this your sense of time is good 
Try it out -
Mr. Moody grumbles about bad time-keeping of trains from morning till night!
On one particular morning he was quite justified.
His train left on time for the one hour journey, to Clarksville, and it arrived 5 minutes late.
However, Mr. Moody 's watch showed it to be 3 minutes early, so he adjusted his watch by putting it forward 3 minutes.
His watch kept time during the day, and on the return journey in the evening the train started on time, according to his watch, and arrived on time, according to the station clock.
If the train travelled 25 percent faster on the return journey than it did on the morning journey, was the station clock fast or slow, and by how much?

I AGREE WITH U ABOUT UR CALCULATION TILL=57 MIN.
BUT THE CONCLUSION DRAWN IS WRONG
THE STATION CLOCK SHOULD BE 3 MINS. FASTER.

in forward journey…,v=x/65;
where x is d distance b/w 2 stations;
in return journey….,4x/5v=time takn by train=52 min.
bt since. d train began d return journey..on time..(as per man’s watch) and
tht means 5 min. late as per station clock .
so, d total time shud b takn by train =57 min.
bt d station clock tells tht d train reached on time.(after 1 hr.)
so,
STATION CLOCK IS LATE BY <<<< 3 MIN…………'S

Going time=65min
Incoming time=65*3/4=48.75min
but it is showing 55min
So 55-48.75=6.25min faster

The station clock was 11 minutes fast compared to the passenger in the morning and after the passenger adjusted 3 minutes in his watch, the station clock was 8 minutes fast compared to the passenger.
