Water Pipes

A circular pipe with an inside diameter of six feet can carry a certain amount of water.

How many circular pipes with an inside diameter of one inch will be needed to carry the same amount of water?

  1. pi x (36^2) x h = n x pi x (0.5^2) x h………….(assuming same h)

    so, n = (36^2) / (0.5^2) = 5184 pipes
